Well, another BIG "X" on my calendar for No. 3 chemo of F-A-C on October 25, so I am 75% thru my first 3 months of chemo, and I am doing...okay. (Then have 3 months of weekly chemo...Taxil.) My white blood count was doing very well, so the dr. (who was a substitute for my regular oncologist) decided I did not need to take the shot. So, I did not argue...just hope that my white blood cell counts will stay good without it. (This is a prayer request too!) This stupid chemo is making my taste buds weird this time...nothing tastes good, nor sounds good, though I realize I still have to eat well. And, I have a "weird" feeling...I cannot even explain it. ;( No vomiting though, so I am happy about that. Though I didn't have to get the shot for my white blood cell counts this time, the chemo still hit me hard. But, everyday gets a bit better.

I see the weather in KC/Overland Park/Atchison area has been just wonderful fall weather. I am so happy about that. The weather here in Houston, Texas is great too. About 75-78 degrees each day, sunny and low humidity these days. If/when I do get out, it is a very pleasant experience.

My next treatment is November 15, and it will be the final one of the four 3-week treatments of F-A-C.

Rod is still my knight in shining armor, my wonderful husband…I am very grateful for him and his devotion to me, not only through all of this cancer, but every day. All of you who know Rod personally know exactly what I mean…he is the best, and I am very thankful for him.

The good Lord is still watching over me and carrying me through (there is still only one set of footprints). I am doing okay, still tired a lot, and some days are better than others, and still cannot stand for a long time.

For those of you who didn't know it, I had my hair shaved off on Tuesday evening, 10/2, before Rod and I left for Houston on 10/3. And, I am so glad I did…as it is coming out in leaps and bounds, too bad it can't just all come out at the same time. Instead of big hunks of hair falling around, I have itty-bitty pieces of hair. Yuk. So, yesterday I got it buzzed off as close as they could do it. I bet those really itty bitty suckers keep coming out too!

Please feel free to pass along any updates to whomever might want to know and/or if you want to be taken off the update list. I really do try to keep these short, but there is just so much I want to share. I appreciate you all…your friendship…your support…your prayers -- please keep them up, they continue to be answered.

In my daily reading a while back in Mark 4-7, the commentary in my Daily Walk Bible said this, and I loved it: "What stormy, unexpected event in your life has you feeling panicked and fretful? Remember, Christ intends to take you to the other side safe and secure and not let you drown. Invite him into your 'boat' right now, and let him calm your anxieties and still your storms of doubt." And, it went on to say to read Mark 4:35 again, Jesus did not say, "Let us go to the middle of the lake and drown". He said, "Let's cross to the other side of the lake."
Blessings to you all….

From a recent commentary in my my Daily Walk Bible, NLT.
Today God offers his love and mercy, but there is coming a day when his wrath and judgment will pour down upon all who have ignored his invitation. That means you if you have spurned his offer of salvation in Jesus Christ. That means your unsaved family members and friends. And that means there is no better time than now to warn those you love of the peril they face by continuing in their unbelief. Can you afford to wait?

Prayer from the Billy Graham site (
http://www.billygraham.com/) and there is a great video on this site:

How to Pray:

Dear Lord Jesus,
I know that I am a sinner and need Your forgiveness. I believe that You died for my sins. I want to turn from my sins. I now invite You to come into my heart and life. I want to trust and follow You as Lord and Savior. In Jesus' name. Amen.

God's Assurance: His Word
If you prayed this prayer, The Bible says ..."Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. " — Romans 10:13 (NIV)

Did you sincerely ask Jesus Christ to come into your life? Where is He right now? What has He given you?
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast." — Ephesians 2:8,9 (NIV)

Receiving Christ, we are born into God's family through the supernatural work of the Holy Spirit who indwells every believer. This is called regeneration, or the "new birth." This is just the beginning of a wonderful new life in Christ.

To deepen this relationship you should:
1. Read your Bible everyday to know Christ better.
2. Talk to God in prayer every day.
3. Tell others about Christ.
4. Worship, fellowship, and serve with other Christians in a church where Christ is preached.
5. As Christ's representative in a needy world, demonstrate your new life by your love and concern for others.
