Hello dear friends & family....
Hope you all had a blessed Thanksgiving...we all surely have a lot to be thankful for!
Sorry for the delay in getting an update out, especially from someone who should have all the time in the world to get something done...ha! Truly, many of you who have gone thru chemo and/or know someone who has gone thru chemo, it messes with your whole body and mind, and you just don't function as efficiently as you used to. You realize all the daily things that your body does, that we do not have to initiate or think about, and really take for granted! And, you just never know how you will feel day to day, so it is hard to plan anything.
I had my last F-A-C Chemo on November 15 (which I got every 3 weeks for 3 months). Then, I had to again get the Nulasta shot 24 hours after my chemo, on Friday, November 16, for my white blood cell counts. And, that shot wrecked havoc with my body, with the flu-like symptoms. I finally started feeling a bit better on Wednesday before Thanksgiving, and Thanksgiving I felt pretty good, and have felt pretty good since then. Hope the "worst" is over! However, we had NO plans to go out ANYwhere on "Black Friday" or over the weekend...too many people. :) (And, this weekend was when my resistance was at its lowest.)
We had a lovely Thanksgiving with Robert & Lorene Williams, their daughter Eleanor & her boyfriend, Scott, and another couple from the neighborhood, JoAnn & David, and JoAnn's 90-year old mother, Ronni. It was just great, and we all agreed how very much we had to be thankful for, and for God's grace and abundance in our lives.
I have my next chemo on Thursday, 12-6-07, and that will be the Taxol, which will be weekly on Thursday afternoon's for 12 weeks. The taxol is the chemo so that it doesn't spread to bone cancer. (Then 7 weeks of radiation after that.)
Some Miscellaneous Tidbits:
* Still keeping the head buzzed...it is amazing how quickly those little sprigs of hair here and there sprout up.
* Taste buds come back a little bit here and there. (I sure wish they'd stay good!) That how Rod determines how good or bad I feel...if I have a craving for some particular food, it is a good day!
* There are a couple food places I cannot even drive by and/or think about without almost getting nauseous. (Luby's & Cleburne's...and I liked them both!)
* Rod is still "stepping up" to the daily tasks of taking care of me, the apartment, etc., and I am truly grateful for him.
* We have gotten a P.O. Box in Houston, as we have decided to have our Overland Park mail forwarded to Houston. (Instead of sweet friends picking it up in Overland Park and mailing to us.)
* Though it was gray & rainy & 50's this past weekend in Houston, it is sunny today, 60's, and getting to 75 later in the week. My kind of weather! :)
* I have started a blog at http://www.tammyanderson.blogspot.com/. Not sure how much I will get updates on there, but will try to put tidbits every now and then!
* I continue to appreciate you all…your friendship…your support…your prayers -- please keep them up, they continue to be answered.
Until next time...

From a recent commentary in my my Daily Walk Bible, NLT.
Today God offers his love and mercy, but there is coming a day when his wrath and judgment will pour down upon all who have ignored his invitation. That means you if you have spurned his offer of salvation in Jesus Christ. That means your unsaved family members and friends. And that means there is no better time than now to warn those you love of the peril they face by continuing in their unbelief. Can you afford to wait?
Prayer from the Billy Graham site (http://www.billygraham.com/) and there is a great video on this site:
How to Pray:
Dear Lord Jesus,
I know that I am a sinner and need Your forgiveness. I believe that You died for my sins. I want to turn from my sins. I now invite You to come into my heart and life. I want to trust and follow You as Lord and Savior. In Jesus' name. Amen.
God's Assurance: His Word
If you prayed this prayer, The Bible says ..."Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. " — Romans 10:13 (NIV)
Did you sincerely ask Jesus Christ to come into your life? Where is He right now? What has He given you?
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast." — Ephesians 2:8,9 (NIV)
Receiving Christ, we are born into God's family through the supernatural work of the Holy Spirit who indwells every believer. This is called regeneration, or the "new birth." This is just the beginning of a wonderful new life in Christ.
To deepen this relationship you should:
1. Read your Bible everyday to know Christ better.
2. Talk to God in prayer every day.
3. Tell others about Christ.
4. Worship, fellowship, and serve with other Christians in a church where Christ is preached.
5. As Christ's representative in a needy world, demonstrate your new life by your love and concern for others.
