Yesterday (Thursday, 1-17-08) was my chemo, which went well, but I woke up with a cold which made me feel kinda puny. :( I started getting a swollen throat Wed night, and took some Ricola throat lozenges, hoping it would fight off the little infections, but it did not. And, of course, I do get especially tired after I had my chemo, and did come home and take a nap yesterday. (But, only 5 chemo's left!) The dr. called me in a Z-Pac of antibiotics (take for 5 days) and I am feeling okay and better today. Luckily I did not have to take any "additional" medicine. I am very limited on what I can take, and cannot take my DayQuil or Nyquil, :( which always help me. (Can't take anything with ibuprofen or acetaminophen, as it will mask a fever.) When Rod went out to get me some medicine last evening, I think he realized what a hassle it is to shop for medicine...there are SO many to choose from, then you canNOT find what you want, etc. Luckily my throat doesn't feel swollen or hurt today, and I have not had a fever either. Praise the Lord! Tomorrow is Rod's birthday, so I want to feel like doing something and/or going out to eat with him. However, as I told Rod this morning, when it comes to going out to eat, I am sure I will feel just fine. :)

Sorry that you folks in the Kansas City/Overland Park area (and anywhere else it is c-c-cold) are having such extreme c-c-cold. It is cooler here too, kinda gray days, and 45-55 degrees during the day, and 32 at night. The Houstonians are cold! Ha....it is all relative.

Thank you all for your continued prayers...they are still being positively answered.

Have a great weekend!

From a recent commentary in my my Daily Walk Bible, NLT.
Today God offers his love and mercy, but there is coming a day when his wrath and judgment will pour down upon all who have ignored his invitation. That means you if you have spurned his offer of salvation in Jesus Christ. That means your unsaved family members and friends. And that means there is no better time than now to warn those you love of the peril they face by continuing in their unbelief. Can you afford to wait?

Prayer from the Billy Graham site (
http://www.billygraham.com/) and there is a great video on this site:

How to Pray:

Dear Lord Jesus,
I know that I am a sinner and need Your forgiveness. I believe that You died for my sins. I want to turn from my sins. I now invite You to come into my heart and life. I want to trust and follow You as Lord and Savior. In Jesus' name. Amen.

God's Assurance: His Word
If you prayed this prayer, The Bible says ..."Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. " — Romans 10:13 (NIV)

Did you sincerely ask Jesus Christ to come into your life? Where is He right now? What has He given you?
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast." — Ephesians 2:8,9 (NIV)

Receiving Christ, we are born into God's family through the supernatural work of the Holy Spirit who indwells every believer. This is called regeneration, or the "new birth." This is just the beginning of a wonderful new life in Christ.

To deepen this relationship you should:
1. Read your Bible everyday to know Christ better.
2. Talk to God in prayer every day.
3. Tell others about Christ.
4. Worship, fellowship, and serve with other Christians in a church where Christ is preached.
5. As Christ's representative in a needy world, demonstrate your new life by your love and concern for others.
