As of today, Thursday, 4-3-08, I have finished 18 of 30 radiation treatments!
I went in for another "simulation" today. This time it is for "markings" for my last 5-7 treatments "boost"...where they will concentrate directly where the cancer cell(s) were before the lumpectomy, instead of treating the whole area. Things continue to go well. (Praise the Lord.) I am doing good with the fatigue...I just sleep late in the mornings and move around slowly when I do get up, to "take care of the fatigue". :) And, I rest as often as I need to...naps here and there as necessary, and I try to get some exercise each day, whether it be a walk around the Rice University track, around the neighborhood, or Jazzercise, or parking at the very end of the parking lot at a store, etc. (Hey, every little bit helps!) Everyone at M.D. Anderson encourages exercise, saying it helps tremendously, with fatigue in radiation, and they said the same with the chemo.
However, with exercising comes sweating, then comes taking a shower, which makes keeping the "markings" on your body difficult. They put tape over the markings, which are done with good old fashioned magic markers, but with sweat & water, they want to peel off! Oh, and the lotion you put on also makes the markings want to come off. You have to be very careful that they (the markings) don't come off, as they need the markings to ensure the radiation is getting exactly where it needs to be. (I want it to be exactly where it should be! HA....)
The continuing prayer request is that there are no problems, burning, cracking, etc. during the radiation. So far, it is doing very good, the dr. (Dr. Julia Oh, Radiation Oncologist) is pleased that it looks so good. Thanks for the continued prayers.
Oh, and where my port came out a couple weeks ago is looking great the dr. said. Yea. Another answered prayer.
Thankfully, no further post-chemo side effects. And, still no eye lashes. ;) But...they will grow back I am sure.
It is getting more and more humid here in Texas. It has been in the low 80's here. People say I am getting out of town (end of April) before it gets too unbearable! Of course, I have enjoyed the mild weather while I have been here (October 3-end of April).
Hope you all have a great weekend, and will catch up with you later.
Blessings to you...

From a recent commentary in my my Daily Walk Bible, NLT.
Today God offers his love and mercy, but there is coming a day when his wrath and judgment will pour down upon all who have ignored his invitation. That means you if you have spurned his offer of salvation in Jesus Christ. That means your unsaved family members and friends. And that means there is no better time than now to warn those you love of the peril they face by continuing in their unbelief. Can you afford to wait?
Prayer from the Billy Graham site (http://www.billygraham.com/) and there is a great video on this site:
How to Pray:
Dear Lord Jesus,
I know that I am a sinner and need Your forgiveness. I believe that You died for my sins. I want to turn from my sins. I now invite You to come into my heart and life. I want to trust and follow You as Lord and Savior. In Jesus' name. Amen.
God's Assurance: His Word
If you prayed this prayer, The Bible says ..."Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. " — Romans 10:13 (NIV)
Did you sincerely ask Jesus Christ to come into your life? Where is He right now? What has He given you?
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast." — Ephesians 2:8,9 (NIV)
Receiving Christ, we are born into God's family through the supernatural work of the Holy Spirit who indwells every believer. This is called regeneration, or the "new birth." This is just the beginning of a wonderful new life in Christ.
To deepen this relationship you should:
1. Read your Bible everyday to know Christ better.
2. Talk to God in prayer every day.
3. Tell others about Christ.
4. Worship, fellowship, and serve with other Christians in a church where Christ is preached.
5. As Christ's representative in a needy world, demonstrate your new life by your love and concern for others.
