Hello to anyone reading this! Well, it is now September 9...September already...yikes. Sorry for the delay in responding. This working-stuff interferes with keeping up with my blog, and in contact with all my wonderful friends and family. :)

I have my first check up back at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas, on Friday, September 19. Luckily, they were able to get all my appointments on that Friday, so we will fly down on September 18, and return to KC on September 20. I will be sure to update this blog soon thereafter to advise how my mammogram and update goes. Of course, we expect nothing but a good report!

Tidbits:
  • I am feeling pretty good these days. Praise the Lord!
  • A couple weeks ago I felt a breakthrough in my bones not being so creaky, and it just keeps getting better.
  • I still have a couple spots on my big toenails that I am watching, but nothing serious. I keep soaking my feet in vinegar water, just so they do not get any bacteria or infection.
  • I continue to rinse my mouth morning and night with baking soda & water too, so I don't get mouth sores. (They told me to do this during my chemo, which ended 2/08. Hey, it is good for anyone to do this anyway! And...I still do not want mouth sores. And, they told me it would take 2 full years for my body to get back to normal, so I am being extra careful. Ha.)
  • I have eye lashes! Yup, sure do.
  • My hair continues to grow, is still curly and short, but growing.
  • I am still enjoying not using a hair dryer or curling iron. I just wash & gel!
  • We took a wonderful week of vacation recently (August 23-September 1) and went to Gardendale, Alabama, then on to Panama City Beach, Florida with Rod's parents. We only had rain from Hurricane Fay on one day, then the rest of the time was awesome weather. It was a nice get away.

You take care, and please keep in touch, and will catch up with you later.

Blessings to you and yours.

P.S. I need to update my picture on this blog too!

From a recent commentary in my my Daily Walk Bible, NLT.
Today God offers his love and mercy, but there is coming a day when his wrath and judgment will pour down upon all who have ignored his invitation. That means you if you have spurned his offer of salvation in Jesus Christ. That means your unsaved family members and friends. And that means there is no better time than now to warn those you love of the peril they face by continuing in their unbelief. Can you afford to wait?

Prayer from the Billy Graham site (
http://www.billygraham.com/) and there is a great video on this site:

How to Pray:

Dear Lord Jesus,
I know that I am a sinner and need Your forgiveness. I believe that You died for my sins. I want to turn from my sins. I now invite You to come into my heart and life. I want to trust and follow You as Lord and Savior. In Jesus' name. Amen.

God's Assurance: His Word
If you prayed this prayer, The Bible says ..."Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. " — Romans 10:13 (NIV)

Did you sincerely ask Jesus Christ to come into your life? Where is He right now? What has He given you?
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast." — Ephesians 2:8,9 (NIV)

Receiving Christ, we are born into God's family through the supernatural work of the Holy Spirit who indwells every believer. This is called regeneration, or the "new birth." This is just the beginning of a wonderful new life in Christ.

To deepen this relationship you should:
1. Read your Bible everyday to know Christ better.
2. Talk to God in prayer every day.
3. Tell others about Christ.
4. Worship, fellowship, and serve with other Christians in a church where Christ is preached.
5. As Christ's representative in a needy world, demonstrate your new life by your love and concern for others.
